Taiwan’s increasingly posture of independence is irking and worrying China and China is trying to find all channels to contain and manage it. One one hand, Singapore appears to be a convenient target to warn others against helping Taiwan in anyway towards independence, on the other hand, China also wants to reduce Taiwan’s military capabilities as much as possible in case there is ever a need for hard measures. Taiwan can learn alot from joint exercises with Singapore because it’s indirectly learning from US and other join military partners of Singapore.

When both countries’ national interests clash, will Singapore be ready to face off China?
