Rod Broadhurst is Professor of Criminology, ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences, on secondment to the School of Regulation and Global Governance (RegNet), College of Asia and the Pacific. He is also a Research Fellow in the College of Asia and the Pacific and was formerly Chief Investigator of the ARC Centre for Excellence in Policing and Security at the RegNet ANU branch.
He has held research and teaching posts at the University of Western Australia, the University of Hong Kong, and Queensland University of Technology. He also served in the Western Australian Prison and Corrections Service (1974-1985) and public health department (1986-1989).
He was an Honorary Fellow at the University of Hong Kong and Griffith University, served as the secretary and chair of the Hong Kong Society of Criminology (1998-2006), and was external assessor for City University of Hong Kong (2007-2012). He is currently a non-residential fellow of the Korean Institute of Criminology.
