Renata Sivacolundhu

Renata Sivacolundhu is the International Humanitarian Law Coordinator for Australian Red Cross in Western Australia.  Previously she has worked as a Humanitarian Observer with the Red Cross’ Immigration Detention Monitoring Program, visiting centres on the mainland, Christmas Island and offshore advocating with authorities on issues of humanitarian concern. Particular areas of focus in this role were children in detention and women in detention.

Until 2012, Renata worked with the United Nations Department of Public Information as focal point for Human Rights, Rule of Law and Indigenous Issues. She also managed the UN’s Outreach Programme on the Rwanda Genocide, a global education programme which aims to teach the lessons of the Rwanda genocide and raise awareness of the impact on victims and survivors.

Renata has a Master of International Law from the Australian National University and a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) from University of New South Wales.
