Jonathan Tam

Jonathan Tam is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Sociology at the University of Oxford.

His research interest focuses on the intersections of transnationalism, development, education and religion. He is interested in the broad question of how members of Chinese diaspora engage in global activism through religious networks.

Jonathan previously served as a high school department head at international schools in South Korea. As a full time teacher, he completed a Master of Arts in Education from Simpson University. He later received a Master of Science in Education from the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education, focusing on education and the internal migrant challenge in China.
