Dr Johan Nordensvärd is Lecturer in Social Policy at the University of Southampton, UK.

Johan studied Political Science at the University of Lund (MA), Sweden and the University of Oldenburg (PhD), Germany.

Prior to his employment at the University of Southampton, Johan was an LSE Fellow and Researcher in Social Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science LSE (2010-2013) and a Lecturer in Social Policy at the University of Brighton (2008-2009 and 2012-2014).

His current research focuses on the fields of politics and environment, as well as social policy. He is particularly interested in global environmental governance with a focus on climate change and low carbon development, especially its social and environmental implications. Together with Frauke Urban he edited the first text book on Low Carbon Development.
