Hiroyuki Taguchi is a Professor in the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Economics at Saitama University in Japan.

His main fields of research are the international economy, Asian economies and international  finance. Professor Taguchi has worked in Japan’s Cabinet Office (former Economic Planning Agency) and served as the Vice President of the Policy Research Institute at the Ministry of Finance.

He has been an expert economist in BAPPENAS, Indonesia’s Ministry of National Development Planning, and at Thailand’s National Economic and Social Development Board, on secondment from the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
