Dr Frauke Urban is Associate Professor in the Management of Sustainable Energy Systems at the Royal Institute of Technology KTH in Stockholm.
She is an environmental scientist specialised on the linkages between energy, climate change and development, especially climate change mitigation, low carbon development and energy policy.
Her main regional interest is Asia, particularly China and Southeast Asia. She is the author of Low Carbon Transitions for Developing Countries and the editor of Low Carbon Development: Key Issues (with Johan Nordensvard), both books published by Routledge.
Previously, Frauke was a Reader in Environment and Development at SOAS University of London. She also worked as Research Fellow at the Institute of Development Studies IDS, University of Sussex, as Research Fellow at the University of Groningen, Netherlands, as Visiting Researcher at Tsinghua University, Beijing, China and as Visiting Lecturer and Researcher at the University of Heidelberg, Germany.
