Dr Claude Rakisits is Honorary Associate Professor at the Asia-Pacific College of Diplomacy at the Australian National University, and is an Associate at Georgetown University. He is also the head of Geopolitical Assessments. He has worked in the Australian public sector in the Departments of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Defence, Prime Minister and Cabinet, and the Office of National Assessments, and as an adviser to a deputy prime minister and a shadow minister for foreign affairs.

Dr Rakisits has more than three decades worth of expertise in defence and strategic issues, international affairs, and intelligence. He is a strategic analyst interested in Pakistan, Afghanistan, the Middle East, and Africa.
