Catherine Renshaw

Catherine Renshaw is a Professor in the School of Law at the Western Sydney University. Her research focuses on human rights and democracy in Southeast Asia. She has also been a Visiting Scholar at the Centre for International Governance and Justice at The Australian National University.

She is the author of numerous journal articles and book chapters, an editor of the Journal of South Asian Law and between 2008 and 2010 she was Director of an Australian Research Council project based at the Australian Human Rights Centre at the University of New South Wales. She is admitted to practice as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia.

Catherine’s research focuses on international law, international human rights law, particularly in Southeast Asia, and regional systems for the promotion and protection of human rights.
