Angie Bexley is Senior Research Fellow at the Poverty and Inequality Centre at ANU Crawford School of Public Policy and Associate Dean (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access) at ANU College of Asia and the Pacific.

Angie is an anthropologist with research interests in childhood poverty, youth studies, research methods, gender, and intolerance in Indonesia. Over the last twenty years, Angie has conducted extensive fieldwork in Indonesia and Timor-Leste and provides evidence-based social research for policy.

Angie has designed, managed, and provided advisory services to major DFAT-funded projects in Indonesia on gender and social inclusion, and has worked for organisations including The Asia Foundation, The Carter Center, and Plan International.

Angie is currently a senior research fellow on Research Fellow on both the Australian Research Council Discovery Grant Understanding and Assessing Childhood Poverty in Indonesia and the Individual Deprivation Measure, where she provides gender-based analysis for the Indonesia country study. Angie has published a co-edited book with Dr Maj Nygaard-Christensen, Fieldwork in Timor-Leste: Understanding Social Change through Practice.
