Dr Alice Garner is a historian, writer, performer, and a former French and humanities teacher in the Victorian secondary school system. She has published in social, environmental and educational history and is currently based in the Melbourne Graduate School of Education, working on an interdisciplinary project on trade union education in Australia with colleagues in history, adult education and labour law.
An experienced archival researcher, fluent in French, she has extensive experience in national, regional and local archives in France and Australia and has also worked on Department of State and university archives in the United States.
Alice is an occasional documentary presenter, most recently on Coast Australia, and she is a Visiting Fellow at The Australian National University Australian Studies Institute.
