Alex Jingwei He

Dr Alex He Jingwei is Associate Professor and Associate Head of the Department of Asian and Policy Studies at the Education University of Hong Kong.

Dr He specialises in public policy analysis, health policy, and governance and social policy reforms, with particular reference to East Asia. He has published extensively in these areas, contributing articles to leading international journals and publishing houses, including Public Administration ReviewThe China Quarterly (2013, 2018), Health Policy and Planning (2014, 2016, 2019), Social Science and MedicineHealth PolicyJournal of Contemporary ChinaSocial Policy and AdministrationPolicy and SocietyPublic Administration and Development, and Ageing and Society.

Dr He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Asian Public Policy, Executive Member of the East Asian Social Policy Network (EASP), Adjunct Research Fellow of the Center for China and Globalization, and the alumnus of the Ronald Coase Institute.

As a policy scholar, Dr He actively participates in policy advocacy and knowledge transfer. His articles appeared in leading newspapers, including China Daily, South China Morning Post, Hong Kong Economic Journal, Ming Pao, and Singtao Daily. He was interviewed by the Phoenix TV, The Financial Times, Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK), ATV, China Radio International, South China Morning Post, and CBS News in the US on various policy issues.
